A Word About Lead Acid

Why we don't install lead-acid systems.

Many existing Cypriot installers still pair solar PV with lead-acid battery storage — a chemistry that should have been retired years ago.

Lead acid batteries depend on a large amount of hazardous, restricted lead — a highly toxic metal linked to elevated risk of lung, stomach, and urinary-bladder cancers. They also contain sulphuric acid: a highly corrosive chemical that can explode in concentrated form, and that causes direct chemical burns on contact.

Over the next decade, existing off-grid PV installations with lead-acid batteries will reach end-of-life. Lithium iron phosphate will be the best choice for the health of your family, your finances, and the planet.
