Privacy & Data

Your privacy,
honestly handled.

We only collect what we need to do our job — respond to your enquiry, design your system, and stay in touch. This page describes what data we hold, why, and the rights you have over it under EU and Cypriot law.

In Plain English

No tracking.
No selling.
No surprises.

This website is a static set of pages — there's no login, no comments, no user accounts, no advertising trackers. The only personal data we ever receive is what you choose to send us through one of two contact forms. We use that data to reply to you and, if you become a customer, to design and deliver your project.

If at any point you want to know what we hold about you, change it, or delete it — write to info@elektraenergycy.com. We'll respond within one working day.

01 · Who We Are

The data controller.

The data controller for any personal information you provide through this website is JKL Sustainable Cyprus Ltd, trading as Elektra Energy, registered in the Republic of Cyprus under company number HE 425897, with registered office at Charoupion 1, Skarinou 7731, Cyprus.

We design and install grid-tied and off-grid solar energy systems with battery storage across Cyprus. Our website address is https://elektraenergycy.com. For any privacy-related enquiry, write to info@elektraenergycy.com.

02 · What We Collect

Only what you
send us.

We collect personal data in only two situations: when you fill in the contact form on the Contact page, or the off-grid intake form.

The fields on those forms ask for: your name, email address, phone number (optional), city or village, the type of project you're considering, and any free-text notes you choose to include. The intake form also asks operational questions about your site (structure type, roof type, household size, availability for a survey).

We do not automatically log IP addresses, set tracking cookies, use Google Analytics, run advertising pixels, or embed third-party content that profiles you.

03 · Why We Collect It

To do the job
you asked us to do.

Your data is used for one of three purposes:

  • Responding to your enquiryReplying within one working day, asking any clarifying questions, arranging a site visit.
  • Designing & delivering your projectIf you become a customer, your contact details and project notes are used to design, install, monitor and service your system.
  • Keeping in touch about your installationWarranty notifications, monitoring alerts, and occasional service messages — for as long as you own the system.

Our legal basis under GDPR is consent (you chose to submit the form), and where relevant contractual necessity (we need your details to fulfil the work you've engaged us to do).

04 · Who Processes Your Data

A short
list of names.

To run the website and our business we use a small number of trusted service providers, each acting as a data processor under our instructions:

  • Web3FormsReceives your form submission and forwards it to our email. Web3Forms is operated by Plopli (privacy policy).
  • Our email providerStores the messages you send us. We use a standard business email provider that complies with EU GDPR.
  • Our website hostServes the pages you're reading right now. The host may produce standard server access logs (IP address, request time, page requested) for security and reliability — kept for no longer than 30 days and never linked to a named individual.

We do not sell, rent, or share your data with any other third party for marketing or any other purpose.

05 · How Long We Keep It

As long as it's
useful — and no longer.

We retain your personal data for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes described in this policy, or as required by law. Enquiry data is typically retained for up to three years. If you become a customer, we keep your project records for the operating life of your system and for the period required by Cypriot tax, accounting and consumer-protection law.

You may request deletion of your data at any time — see "Your rights" below.

06 · Your Rights

Under GDPR,
you can.

You have the following rights over the personal data we hold about you under EU Regulation 2016/679 (GDPR) and the Cypriot Personal Data Protection Law:

  • AccessAsk for a copy of everything we hold about you.
  • RectificationAsk us to correct anything that's wrong or out of date.
  • ErasureAsk us to delete your personal data ("right to be forgotten"), subject to legal retention obligations.
  • Restriction & objectionAsk us to stop processing your data, or object to a specific use of it.
  • PortabilityReceive your data in a structured, commonly-used format.
  • Withdraw consentWhere we rely on consent, you can withdraw it at any time.
  • ComplainLodge a complaint with the Office of the Commissioner for Personal Data Protection of Cyprus at www.dataprotection.gov.cy if you believe we've mishandled your data.

To exercise any of these rights, email us at info@elektraenergycy.com. We'll respond within one calendar month at no cost.

07 · Cookies

We don't
use any.

This website doesn't set any cookies. It doesn't use Google Analytics, advertising trackers, social media pixels, or session storage. Loading a page on this site doesn't profile you, identify you, or send your behaviour to anyone.

Fonts are loaded from Google Fonts, which means Google's servers receive your browser's request for those fonts. We don't control Google's processing — their privacy policy is at policies.google.com/privacy. If this matters to you, we can self-host the fonts on request.

08 · International Transfers

When data leaves
the EEA.

Some of our service providers — including Web3Forms and our website host — may process data outside the European Economic Area. Where this happens, we ensure appropriate safeguards are in place, such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses or transfers to jurisdictions covered by a current EU adequacy decision.

You can request a copy of the relevant safeguards by emailing info@elektraenergycy.com.

09 · Security

How we protect
your data.

We implement appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your personal data against accidental or unlawful destruction, loss, alteration, or unauthorised disclosure — including HTTPS encryption in transit, access controls on our email, and a deliberately minimal data footprint.

No system is perfectly secure, but we work to keep yours private. If we ever become aware of a personal data breach affecting you, we will notify the Cyprus Commissioner for Personal Data Protection and you, where required, in accordance with our GDPR obligations.

10 · Changes to This Policy

If the policy
changes, you'll see it here.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time — to reflect changes in our practices, the services we use, or the law. The current version is always published on this page with the date of last update. We encourage you to review it periodically.

Last updated: May 2026.
